Customs Seize Methamphetamine Worth MVR 7.2 Million

The Maldives Customs Service has seized 3.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, estimated to be worth MVR 7.2 million, in an operation last Thursday night.

The drugs were intercepted from a shipment imported by air, following a targeted search operation based on intelligence information. According to Customs, the contraband was identified during the first phase of analysis, which confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine.

The total weight of the drugs, including packaging, amounts to 3.6 kilograms. 

The seized drugs have since been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation. Authorities have not disclosed further details as the case remains under active inquiry.
