Customs Seizes Cannabis Worth MVR 856,000 Smuggled via Post

Maldives Customs has seized a package containing cannabis, with an estimated street value of MVR 856,000, that was smuggled through the postal service.
The seizure was made during an inspection of a package suspected of containing narcotics, Customs announced on Wednesday.

The package was found to contain a total of 1.070 kg of cannabis.
A 52-year-old man has been identified in connection with the package. Both the individual and the seized drugs have been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
