Classes for the course will be conducted online every evening except Fridays, from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, selection for the programme will be based on applicants’ fluency in Quran recitation, as well as their proficiency in reading both Dhivehi and Arabic.
Alongside this initiative, the Ministry is also conducting a separate training programme for young preachers. More than 400 students have completed the preacher training so far. This programme aims to license school graduates to deliver Friday sermons and conduct religious functions as part of a broader government effort to strengthen religious education and leadership in communities.
