The Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology has extended the deadline for employers to submit newly required documents related to expatriate employment quotas in the Maldives until 1 June.
In an announcement issued today, the ministry said the deadline for submitting the notarised Work Site Declaration Form and the accompanying Undertaking has been extended following requests from a large number of employers for additional time.
The two documents are now mandatory, in addition to standard site registration requirements, for the issuance and management of expatriate employment quotas.
The ministry instructed all employers to submit the required forms before the revised deadline through the “Document Update Request” or “Site Permit Update” sections of their registered sites on the Expat System. It warned that any worksites that fail to submit the documents within the stipulated period will be suspended.
To support employers in completing the process, the ministry has published a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Expat System homepage, providing guidance on the new requirements and submission procedures.
