Deadline for Presidential Election 2023 Online Re-registration is Tomorrow

The deadline for voters to re-register online for the upcoming Presidential Election 2023 is set for tomorrow, 31st July 2023, at 11:59pm. To facilitate the re-registration process, the Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) has provided multiple options for voters to ensure their participation in the electoral process.

For online re-registration, citizens should use the dedicated online portal at the ECM website. Voters are encouraged to utilize this platform, which will remain open until the deadline. By accessing the portal, citizens can swiftly update their registration details.

Alternatively, individuals can choose to re-register by filling out a physical re-registration form and submitting it to their respective local or city council, municipal office, or Dharubaaruge if they are currently residing in Male’.

These locations will accept and process the completed forms, ensuring voters are duly registered for the Presidential Election.
This re-registration process is set to end in August 5.
To verify their registration status, citizens can send an SMS to 1414, containing the message “VR” followed by their ID Card Number. This will provide them with the necessary information from the voters’ registry.
