Dhiraagu Announces Road Closures for Maldives Road Race 2024
Dhiraagu has announced that the route for the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2024 will be closed to vehicles on Friday, 25 October 2024, during the race.
This measure is being implemented to ensure the safety of participants throughout the event.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation released an announcement regarding the road closure times last week. The race route will be closed to all non-essential vehicles during the following times, except for authorised event vehicles:
• 5:00-9:00 AM (morning)
• 4:00-6:00 PM (evening)
Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2024 is scheduled to take place next Friday, 25 October 2024 at Central Park, Hulhumale’. The Half Marathon and 10K races will take place in the morning while the 5K races will take place at 4:30 PM in the evening.
This year, 4,400 runners will be taking part in DMRR, the largest and only international run held in the Maldives, listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified race route.
