Dhiraagu Gamers Guild (DGG) officially launched its Season 2 Opening Event at Dhiraagu Head Office on Saturday.

The opening event unveiled a range of tournaments, community initiatives and activities planned for the year ahead. Season 2 began with interactive gaming sessions, refreshments, and a live performance by local band Fenfulhi.

During the event, DGG reflected on its progress in 2025, highlighting significant growth within the local gaming ecosystem. The platform expanded its community to more than 11,000 registered gamers and distributed MVR 350,000 in prize pools. Gamers also received giveaways valued at over MVR 150,000.

According to Dhiraagu, DGG hosted 17 tournaments across 13 gaming titles last year, including the Dhiraagu Maldives Gaming Conquest held in August 2025, described as the largest gaming event of its kind in the Maldives. DGG said the milestones reinforced its role in developing and advancing competitive gaming nationwide.

DGG plans to further enhance the gaming experience by organising more community-driven tournaments, expanding beyond traditional gaming activities, and hosting its first international online tournament in 2026, DDG said. The Guild also announced the introduction of Leaderboards and additional Guild features scheduled to go live later this year to increase engagement and competition within the community.

DGG said it remains committed to promoting e-sports across the Maldives and nurturing emerging gaming talent, as part of Dhiraagu’s broader efforts to strengthen the local digital and creative ecosystem.

Further updates and announcements will be shared through the official DGG website at dgg.mv.
