Dhiraagu has handed over the first speedboat awarded under its ‘Win 2 Speedboats’ promotion, with the ceremony held yesterday at the Thilafushi Boatyard.

The Al Shaali Marine Canary 28 sports speedboat, powered by a Yamaha 250HP outboard engine, was won by Abdulla Saeed from Harumaluge in Seenu Feydhoo. The handover marks the first of two speedboats Dhiraagu is giving away as part of the promotion.

Speaking to MV+ at the event, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu, said the campaign is the company’s third major promotional giveaway. He noted that Dhiraagu had previously awarded a Tesla under an earlier promotion, while a speedboat was given away last year. This year’s campaign includes two speedboats, with the first draw conducted six months into the promotion.

Mirshan said the main aim of the promotion is to provide additional value to customers beyond Dhiraagu’s core services, adding that the company hopes the prize will have a positive impact on the winner’s life.

Expressing his happiness, Saeed said he had participated in this promotion but didn’t win. He said that he felt confident this time that he would win. He added that while he plans to sell the speedboat as he is not licensed to operate one, he hopes to take it out for a trip before doing so.

Dhiraagu has previously stated that it engaged Nexia Maldives as an independent third-party auditor to ensure transparency and fairness in the lucky draw process. Representatives from Nexia Maldives were present at the venue during the announcement of the winner.

The company said that although the first speedboat has been awarded, customers can continue to take part in the promotion for a chance to win the second speedboat. Enrollment for the ‘Win 2 Speedboats’ campaign will remain open until 31 March 2026.
