The Department of National Registration (DNR) has issued a statement, urging individuals aged 18 and above to renew their ID cards in order to finalise the voters list for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The opportunity to renew ID cards is available for those over the age of 18 whose information has undergone changes. The renewal window will remain open until 15:00 on the 21st of this month.

Post this deadline, individuals above the age of 18 can obtain an ID card without any hindrance, even if they are not eligible to vote in the parliamentary elections.

According to the DNR, following the parliamentary elections, adjustments will be made to the information of individuals aged 18 and above, and citizenship cards will be issued accordingly.

The Parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place in March. A total of 284,327 individuals are eligible to vote, encompassing those who are turning 18 years old.
