President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced the ongoing efforts to provide documentation confirming the allocation of land and the registration process for recipients who have received land from Giraavarufalhu, Gulhifalhu, and Hulhumale’ Phase III.
During the ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ series, a platform enabling direct interaction between the public and the President via social media, Muizzu responded to inquiries from the public.
Ibrahim Samah raised concerns regarding the lack of clarity surrounding land allocations from Giraavarufalhu and Gulhifalhu under the previous administration, highlighting the absence of documentation confirming the receipt of land. Samah appealed to the President to address these uncertainties.
In his response, Muizzu acknowledged the concerns and assured that efforts were underway to expedite the process of preparing documents confirming land receipt from Giraavarufalhu and Gulhifalhu.
However, he explained that the issuance of registries for plots allocated from unreclaimed areas could only proceed once the reclamation process is complete. Nonetheless, Muizzu mentioned plans to issue temporary registry documents in the meantime.
Muizzu reaffirmed the commitment to ensure that all recipients under the former administration’s ‘Binveriya’ scheme receive their registries promptly, emphasizing the acceleration of efforts in this regard.
A total of 18,955 individuals are eligible for land under the ‘Binveriya’ scheme, with 9,003 land plots set to be issued to recipients from Hulhumale’, Gulhifalhu, and Giraavarufalhu.
It was noted that despite the previous administration’s intentions to distribute registries before the end of its term, this objective was not fulfilled.
