ECM Sets Ballot Box Complaint Submission Deadline to 15:00 Today

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has revealed the list of polling stations and designated venues and the commission is now accepting complaints in preparation for the upcoming presidential election, with the deadline set for 15:00 today.

The commission has introduced a window for complaint submissions, with the deadline set at 15:00 today. The stipulation is that these complaints must be submitted using the provided Complaint Form found on the Register of Eligible Voters.

Originally planning for a deployment of 609 ballot boxes, the ECM has revised this figure to 574 following adjustments in re-registration processes.

The ECM has made the registry of ballot boxes accessible on its official website. Additionally, individuals can access information about their designated polling station and area by sending an SMS containing VR space IDNO to 1414.

For individuals in Male’, the capital city, complaint forms can be submitted at the Election Centre located at Dharubaaruge. Residents of other inhabited islands can submit their forms at their respective council offices.

For those residing abroad, complaint forms will be issued and received at the Consulate Offices and High Commissions of Maldives, specifically in countries designated by the Election Commission for the placement of ballot boxes.

The establishment of overseas polling stations is slated for key locations, including Colombo, Sri Lanka; Trivandrum, India; London, UK; Abu Dhabi, UAE; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
