The Election Commission of Maldives (ECM) has decided that the ballot papers for the upcoming parliamentary elections will include the photos and logos of the candidates.

According to the directive issued by the ECM, candidates affiliated with political parties will have their party’s logo displayed alongside their photo on the ballot paper. However, for independent candidates, a logo submitted by the candidate and approved by the ECM will be used.

An important stipulation outlined by the ECM is that among independent candidates, the logo submitted by one candidate cannot be replicated by another. In cases where two candidates submit identical logos, precedence will be given to the candidate who submitted the logo first.

A total of 608 polling stations will be established for the parliamentary elections scheduled for March 17. Voters seeking information about their designated ballot box can do so by contacting the Election Commission hotline at 1414 or by sending an SMS with their ID card number to 1414.
