Reflecting on the evolution of the education system, the minister noted that learning environments have changed significantly over the years. He highlighted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to adapt to modern challenges and to provide a fully resourced and accessible education system for all students.

The new academic year has begun nationwide, with approximately 90,000 students returning to classrooms following a month-long holiday. Schools across the country welcomed pupils with various activities, signalling the beginning of another year dedicated to academic progress.

According to the Ministry of Education, more than 11,000 teachers are currently working in the sector, including 10,000 in government-run schools. The current student–teacher ratio stands at one teacher for every eight students, reflecting the government’s continued focus on ensuring access to quality education across the country.
