Emergency Permits Required During Vehicle Ban Hours on Eid

Male’ City Council has instituted a vehicle ban on the evening of Eid al-Fitr, requiring a special permit to drive during these restricted hours.

According to an announcement made on Sunday, the council disclosed that Eid celebrations are scheduled to take place within Male’ City, with vehicles banned on the road from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

In light of this decision, the City Council emphasized its intention to enforce strict penalties for any violations of the vehicle ban. However, exceptions will be made for individuals facing genuine emergencies, provided they obtain prior approval from the Council.

To facilitate this process, the Council revealed that emergency permit stickers will be obtainable from the general services department between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

This measure aims to streamline the issuance of permits for those with legitimate needs to operate vehicles during the specified restricted period.
