The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has voiced its apprehension concerning certain campaign activities carried out by various parties in preparation for the upcoming presidential election.

In an official press release, the EPA has underscored the negative ecological and wildlife ramifications stemming from these campaign endeavours. The agency has communicated that campaign banners affixed to protected and aged trees on various islands have been causing substantial damage.

Additionally, the proliferation of discarded campaign materials such as leaflets and posters has led to a noticeable increase in street litter. Notably, the mismanagement of single-use plastic water bottles utilized during campaign events has been identified as a contributing factor to ongoing environmental challenges.

Furthermore, the EPA has expressed specific concern regarding the drilling and resultant destruction of lagoons on the islands, undertaken for the purpose of constructing flagpoles. This activity has had a deleterious effect on the crucial coral reefs surrounding the islands, which play a pivotal role in ensuring the islands’ overall safety.

Given these observations, the EPA has issued a strong and urgent appeal to all political parties and campaigners, urging them to abstain from engaging in any activities that could prove environmentally detrimental.
