EPA Signs MoU with South China Sea Institute for Oceanic Research

The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The agreement was formalised during a ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in Male’.

According to the ministry, the MoU focuses on technological cooperation aimed at environmental protection and the surveying of oceanic ecosystems.
The ministry has described the agreement as a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to safeguard the environment, with the potential to open new avenues for research into the waters surrounding the Maldives.
