EPA to Host ‘Dhooni Vaahaka’ Webinar on Protected Birds in the Maldives

The Environmental Protection Agency of Maldives (EPA) has announced a webinar as part of the Protected Birds in the Maldives Review, scheduled for Thursday, 27 February 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 hrs.

Titled ‘Dhooni Vaahaka’, the session forms a segment of the broader review conducted for the EPA in collaboration with The University of Auckland and Isles Consulting. The initiative is funded by the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP) of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC).

The webinar aims to bring together key government agencies, ornithologists, local knowledge holders, students, civil society organisations, and other interested individuals. Participants will discuss scientific knowledge related to birds and atolls, gain an overview of protected bird species in the Maldives, and review the findings of the Protected Birds in the Maldives Review.
