Family Court Concludes 230 Cases Across Key Areas

The Family Court of Maldives has concluded a total of 230 cases across several categories, according to newly released figures. The data reflects the court’s case handling across divorce, child-related matters, domestic violence, child support, and other family disputes.

The breakdown highlights progress in resolving a significant number of issues, particularly in divorce-related cases, which account for the largest share of completed matters.
Of the 230 cases finalised:
- 180 relate to divorce
- 10 child-related matters of concern
- 9 involve domestic violence
- 13 deal with child support
- 18 fall under other familial issues
The figures also show a steady intake of new cases, with 151 divorce-related, 8 child-related, 13 domestic violence, 14 child support, and 11 other cases submitted during the reporting period. In parallel, several cases remain either pending or in progress.
While 146 divorce cases, 39 child-related, 6 domestic violence, 24 child support, and 28 other matters remain pending, the data indicates that case completion continues at pace across various areas.
