According to Ukulhas Council President Shaukath Ibrahim, the man has been receiving treatment for mental illness since his teenage years. His father, who is over 60, sustained injuries to his stomach and arm in the incident.
The father was initially treated on the island before being transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Malé for additional tests. He is reported to be in stable condition, and his injuries are not considered serious.
