The handover process officially began on 28 October, when the first set of keys was presented at a ceremony held at Tower 14 of Amaan Udhares. So far flats from only tower 14 of Amaan Udhares have been handed over to tenants who have paid their security deposits.
The development, contracted to two Indian firms, consists of two- and three-bedroom units. Two-bedroom flats are priced at MVR 7,000 per month, plus a MVR 1,000 maintenance fee and a MVR 15,000 security deposit. Three-bedroom units are rented at MVR 9,500 per month, with a MVR 1,500 maintenance fee and a MVR 25,000 deposit.
Sixteen towers under the Amaan Udhares scheme are being constructed by Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL), while the remaining sixteen, known as Amaan Dhoadhi, are being developed by India’s National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC). By August both contractors had completed more than 80 percent of the project.
FDC had previously said that as soon as the utility installations are completed in the towers, the handover process of the towers will begin.
