The construction of these housing units has been entrusted to two Indian companies, namely NBCC India Limited and JMC Projects (India) Limited. Each of these companies will be responsible for constructing 2,000 housing units across 16 towers, resulting in a total of 32 towers. These units will consist of 2,800 three-room apartments and 1,200 two-room apartments, with each tower boasting between 17 to 18 storeys.

The Housing Ministry has also announced plans to contract the construction of an additional 3,500 housing units, further expanding the government’s ‘Gedhoruveriya’ housing scheme to accommodate more recipients.
