FDC Set to Deliver Over 500 Flats by February Next Year
Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation’s (FDC) Managing Director, Hamdhan Shakeel, revealed that 512 flats are scheduled to be completed and handed over by February next year. The remaining flats are anticipated to be finished by the end of the year, as confirmed by Hamdhan during a press briefing following the unveiling of the Amaan Dhodhi mock-up apartments.
According to Hamdhan, the first four towers are on track to be completed by February, with 95% of all towers already finalised. Ongoing finishing works are progressing steadily and will be handed over promptly upon completion, he assured.
To expedite construction, Hamdhan highlighted strategic changes in the construction process. “As the towers are completed, resources will be diverted to the next towers. The plan is to accelerate the completion of the flats, enabling swift occupancy,” he explained.
Post-February, Hamdhan aims to deliver a flat every two months, with a larger objective of completing 32 towers by December 31 of next year. He acknowledged logistical challenges in the construction process but expressed confidence in overcoming them.
The initial four towers were contracted to JMC, with Hamdhan confirming the completion of 600 flats by the middle of next year. The broader project’s second phase, managed by FDC, involves the construction of 4,000 flats across 32 towers, each ranging from 17 to 18 floors. Each floor will accommodate eight apartments, comprising 1,200 two-bedroom flats and 2,800 three-bedroom flats. Hamdhan remains optimistic about meeting the ambitious completion targets despite the challenges encountered during the construction process.
