The Council of V. Felidhoo made an announcement on Wednesday, declaring its decision to withhold services from individuals and their immediate families who have not settled their dues.

This measure comes following multiple attempts by the council to recover outstanding payments, which have yielded limited success.

In a council meeting, it was unanimously agreed that services facilitated by the council would be suspended for individuals with outstanding payments and their immediate families. To encourage settlement, the council has introduced a five-day payment window.

Subsequent to this timeframe, a list of defaulters will be made public on a monthly basis.

The exact sum of outstanding payments owed to the Felidhoo Council remains undisclosed, as they have not responded to requests for clarification. It’s worth noting that discontinuing services due to unpaid dues is not a customary practice observed among government agencies.
