Major (Retd) Mohammed Najjah, Managing Director of state owned utility company Fenaka has been sacked from his post.

Privatization & Corporatization Board (PCB) in a post said Najah, who was appointed as the company’s MD on December 23, 2024, Najah has been removed from the post of Managing Director and Board Member of Fenaka Corporation Limited.

Najjah was appointed to Fenaka after Muaz Mohamed, who had held the post until 28 December 2024, resigned on the same day, citing a lack of a clear path to improve the company’s situation.

Najah, who holds a Masters in Logistics Management., served in the army for 21 years.

The PCB did not give the reason for Najah’s dismissal, but the government has been criticized for not solving the electricity problem in Addu and mismanagement of the company.

Internal data and recent court filings reveal a corporation buckling under systemic financial mismanagement.
