Fire Breaks Out at Vinares Flats in Hulhumalé, No Injuries Reported

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has revealed that a fire incident reported at the Vinares Flats in Hulhumalé Phase 2 on Sunday morning has caused damage to one of the apartments.

The fire occurred in Apartment 6 on the 13th floor of Vinares Tower 9. The MNDF Fire and Rescue Service responded to the call at 07:41am, following reports of smoke emerging from the apartment.
Emergency teams from the Hulhumalé Fire Station managed to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
Images released by the MNDF show the room suffered extensive damage, with a bunk bed completely burned and curtains visibly charred. While initial information suggests the fire began on a mattress, the exact cause has not yet been determined.
