Fire Breaks Out in Deserted Hulhumalé Plot, Quickly Extinguished

A fire broke out in a deserted plot of land in Phase 1, Hulhumalé, this morning and was swiftly extinguished by firefighters.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the MNDF Malé Area Command and Hulhumalé Fire Station received a call about the fire at 11:34 am. Firefighters from the MNDF Malé Area Command and Hulhumalé Fire Station were dispatched to the scene, where they worked to contain the blaze.

The fire had ignited in the middle of a woody debris area between Lot No. 10063 and Lot No. 10064 of Phase 1. Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control and extinguished it by 11:40 am.

MNDF confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
