Fire Damages Apartment in Malé City, No Injuries Reported

A fire broke out in an apartment in Malé City yesterday, causing extensive damage to the property but resulting in no injuries.

The fire occurred on the first floor of M. Maleeshaage and was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force at 14:54. Firefighters from the Malé Fire Station responded to the incident and brought the blaze under control by 15:24.

Images shared by the Maldives National Defence Force showed severe damage inside the apartment, including a large section of the ceiling that had been burned through. Several household items, including clothing, were also destroyed in the fire.

The National Disaster Management Authority has launched an investigation into the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
