First Lady Attends the Opening Ceremony of Food Safety Training Program

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the opening ceremony of the “Ufakaara” training program on Thursday.

The Ufaakuraa programme equips food vendors and producers with essential skills to improve food quality and ensure food safety. This edition of the training is a joint effort by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) and the Fuvahmulah City Council.

Running through May 17, the programme will train 86 individuals involved in the food manufacturing sector. Participants will learn best practices for safe food preparation and production, as well as techniques to enhance food quality. They will also gain familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.Since the programme’s launch in 2017, the First Lady has actively participated in Ufaakuraa sessions, regularly sharing her insights and support for strengthening food safety across the Maldives.
