First Lady Highlights Education as a Great Blessing at Ahmadhiyya Prize Awarding Ceremony

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed emphasised that the opportunity to receive an education is a great blessing while addressing the annual Prize Awarding Ceremony of Ahmadhiyya International School yesterday morning.

According to the President’s Office, she described the pursuit of knowledge as a lifelong journey and urged students to embrace it fully. In her remarks, she encouraged them to grow into Muslims proud of their nation, uphold good morals, work diligently, and remain open to the world. She added that by combining knowledge with values and thoughtful action, students could use their learning as a force for humanity.

The First Lady praised Ahmadhiyya International School as an institution with a distinguished history and achievements, noting its role in nurturing generations of responsible students. She reflected on her personal connection to the school, recalling its high academic standards during her own student years, and expressed gratitude to the principal and staff for the invitation to attend the ceremony.

She also highlighted the importance of community bonds, parental unity, and goodwill in sustaining the school since its inception, noting its growth from modest beginnings to national recognition for academic excellence. Addressing parents and teachers, she urged them to instil in students the values of responsibility and faith, stressing that this is best achieved through the examples set both at home and in school.

During the ceremony, the First Lady presented awards to teachers recognised as “Brilliance Teacher” and “Best Overall Teacher”. She also presented awards to the student who achieved first place nationally in the 2023/2024 Cambridge O’Level examinations, three students who secured top global rankings, and three who were recognised as “Best All-Round” students.

Following the event, she toured the school’s commemorative gallery.
