The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources is conducting a training programme in Nilandhoo, Faafu Atoll, aimed at building capacity in the preparation of value-added fish products and the management of small businesses in the fisheries sector.

The programme began on 4 August and is scheduled to continue until 8 August. A total of 11 individuals, including six women and five men, are taking part in the training, which is being delivered by three technical staff from the Ministry.

The training combines theoretical sessions with practical activities, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of value-added fish products and hands-on experience in preparing them. In addition to the technical aspects, the programme includes guidance on establishing and managing small-scale enterprises within the fisheries industry.

According to the Ministry, such training programmes are conducted regularly across the country as part of broader efforts to promote sustainable fisheries and local economic development.
