A Flydubai Boeing 737 was damaged at Velana International Airport today after a fuel bowser collided with its wing during ground servicing operations.
According to Aviation Maldives, the incident occurred while the aircraft was parked on the apron for routine refueling, causing visible damage to the wing. Authorities confirmed that no passengers or crew were injured, and there are no reports of fuel leakage or fire risk.
The aircraft will remain grounded until repairs are completed and certified under regulatory standards. Flydubai and airport authorities are expected to conduct a thorough review of the incident.
Flydubai commenced flight operations from the newly opened Terminal 1 at Velana International Airport on 29 October.
