Foreign Minister Embarks on Official Visit to Oman
The Foreign Minister, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, departed yesterday for Oman on an official visit at the invitation of his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
According to the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khaleel will remain in Oman until 13 December.
During his visit, Dr Khaleel is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Sayyid Albusaidi to review the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Oman. The talks will also focus on exploring avenues for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Additionally, Dr Khaleel is expected to meet with senior officials from the Omani government to discuss opportunities for enhancing collaboration across various sectors, including trade and investment.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry highlighted that the visit underscores the Maldives’ commitment to fostering strong and mutually beneficial relations with Oman.
Dr Khaleel is accompanied by Dr Hala Hameed, Secretary for Bilateral Affairs; Fathimath Naeema, Senior Under Secretary; and Mohamed Shujau, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
