Foreign Minister Visits Malta to Explore Bilateral Opportunities

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, has embarked on an official visit to Malta.

As part of the visit, Dr Khaleel is scheduled to hold discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, Ian Borg. The meeting aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the Maldives and Malta and to facilitate the exchange of perspectives on key issues of mutual concern.
In addition to high-level talks with his counterpart, Dr Khaleel is expected to meet with several senior cabinet ministers in Malta. These engagements will focus on identifying new avenues for cooperation, particularly in areas of shared interest such as environmental conservation, sustainable development, the transition to renewable energy, and the promotion of trade and tourism between the two countries.
Dr Khaleel is accompanied by Secretary Dr Hala Hameed and Senior Under Secretary Hassan Hussain Shihaab.
