Former Islamic Minister Criticises Government Over Silence on Hamas Leader’s Killing

Former Islamic Minister Dr Ahmed Zahir Ali has criticised the government and prominent religious organisations for staying silent over the recent killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh.
In a post on X, Dr Zahir criticised the government and some religious organisations for not condemning the killing and extending condolences to the Palestinian people and the Islamic Ummah.

He described the silence as “sad and unkind act” towards Palestinian people and all those speaking up for a free Palestine.
The Hamas leader and his bodyguard were killed in an attack on Wednesday while he was visiting Tehran for the inauguration of Iranian President Masaoud Pezeshkian. The attack came just hours after Israel killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.
