Former MD of Bright Minds Remanded for 30 Days in Child Sexual Abuse Case

A 27-year-old Maldivian man has been remanded in custody for 30 days in connection with an alleged child sexual abuse case, police said.

According to the police, the suspect was arrested on 11 February as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a minor. Authorities presented him before the court following his arrest, where the court ordered that he be held in custody for 30 days pending further investigation.

Police have not released additional details about the case. However, MV+ has confirmed that the suspect is Ali Aflah, the former Managing Director of Bright Minds tuition centre.

The investigation remains ongoing.
