The event was officiated by Minister of Health Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim.
The project involves the construction of a four-storey, 50-bed hospital designed to expand healthcare services in the region. It also includes a single-storey service block and the development of a boundary wall. The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract, valued at MVR 185.57 million, with a completion timeline of 780 days.
The new facility is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare for residents of Haa Alifu Atoll and neighbouring communities. MTCC, which has a 44-year history of implementing major infrastructure projects across the country, will oversee the construction.
