This move aims to reduce the financial burden on victims and create a more streamlined and convenient process for seeking justice.
Despite efforts by various agencies and private organizations over the past 11 years to support survivors of domestic violence, the provision of legal aid to those in need has remained largely overlooked.
This new initiative seeks to bridge that gap and offer crucial legal advice and assistance to survivors, recognising the profound physical and mental effects they endure.
The legal assistance services are set to commence from tomorrow, providing survivors of domestic violence with the necessary support to navigate the legal complexities they may encounter. By offering access to professional legal advice, the authorities hope to expedite the delivery of justice for these victims.
For survivors seeking the aid of a lawyer, a dedicated form will be made available on the FPA’s official website. This online platform is designed to facilitate the process, making it more accessible and efficient for those in need.
