France’s New Honorary Consul To Maldives Receives Exequatur

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, has presented the exequatur to Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed, formally recognising her appointment as the Honorary Consul of France to the Maldives.
The ceremony took place yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Malé.
Following the presentation, Dr Khaleel extended congratulations on the appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding relationship between the Maldives and France, particularly in the areas of tourism and trade.
Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed conveyed her appreciation for the appointment and stated that she was honoured to assume the position. She affirmed her commitment to supporting French nationals residing in and visiting the Maldives and indicated her intention to work closely with Maldivian authorities to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Honorary consuls are designated by their respective governments to provide consular assistance and to promote diplomatic, economic and cultural relations in the host country.
With the presentation of the exequatur, Fathimath Zuraig Mohamed has formally commenced her duties as the Honorary Consul of France to the Maldives.
