The Fuvahmulah City Council has launched a new all-in-one mobile application, “AfunCity,” aimed at improving public access to services and information within the city.

The application was officially introduced during a launch ceremony held last night in Fuvahmulah, with the council confirming that it is now available for download on both iOS and Android platforms.

According to the council, the app is designed to centralise a wide range of services, allowing residents to access key information and engage more directly with local authorities through a single digital platform.

Among its features, the app provides real-time maritime information, enabling users to track boats travelling between Fuvahmulah and Malé. It also includes religious service information such as daily prayer times, Friday prayer schedules, mosque details, and a locator to find the nearest mosque.

The “AfunCity” app further incorporates environmental monitoring tools, allowing users to check real-time air quality levels across the city.

An interactive map is another core feature of the platform, offering access to more than 3,700 mapped locations, including households, businesses, mosques, and public service centres.

Residents can also use the app’s citizen reporting function to submit complaints or issues related to public services directly to the council, while tracking the status and progress of their submissions.

In addition, the app includes an “AfunAdo” (Our Voice) module, which enables users to participate in community discussions, share suggestions, and take part in polls and voting on local matters. The council said the launch of the application is part of ongoing efforts to enhance digital service delivery and strengthen public engagement in Fuvahmulah.
