Gender Ministry and UNFPA Launch “Madhadhugaaru” App to Tackle Domestic Violence

The Ministry of Gender, Family, and Social Services in the Maldives has unveiled a new mobile application, Madhadhugaaru, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The application is designed to provide support and resources for victims of domestic violence while also facilitating a platform for reporting such incidents.
The newly launched app offers a range of information on domestic violence, seeking to empower individuals by arming them with the knowledge needed to identify and respond to domestic violence situations.
One feature of the application is its emphasis on education and awareness, equipping users with valuable insights into the dynamics of domestic violence and its various forms, allowing individuals to better understand and address this issue.
Additionally, the app offers practical guidance on seeking assistance and support, ensuring that those impacted by domestic violence have access to the resources they need.
