The government has extended the distribution of canned tuna cases—gifted to households for Ramadan 1447—across the Greater Malé Area until the 15th day of Ramadan, according to the Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar.
In a post on social media platform X today, the minister announced that residents of Malé, Villingili, and Hulhumalé can continue collecting their allocated tuna cases until mid-Ramadan from designated distribution points.
The distribution initiative, carried out in collaboration with state-owned enterprises, initially began in the Malé region on 24 January. Authorities said that until 11 February, the tuna cases were being issued from 15 different distribution centres across the area.
