Gov’t Abolishes Maldives Land and Survey Authority

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has abolished the Maldives Land and Survey Authority, which was under the purview of the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development. 

This announcement was made in a directive issued by the President’s Office yesterday.

Muizzu made the decision under the powers vested in him by Article 116(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.

Following the abolition of the Maldives Land and Survey Authority, its functions will be transferred to the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development. The change aims to facilitate a more robust and financially sound mechanism to carry out the tasks previously undertaken by the Maldives Land and Survey Authority.

Gov’t Designates Home for People with Special Needs Under Ministry of Health

Muizzu has also designated the Home for People with Special Needs (HPSN) to operate under the Ministry of Health. This announcement was made in a directive issued by the President’s Office yesterday.

Muizzu made the decision under powers vested in him by Article 116(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Maldives.

In a directive issued by the President’s Office, the President stated that the decision was made upon the Cabinet’s recommendation to transfer the responsibility of operating and maintaining the Home for People with Special Needs to the Ministry of Health.
