Gov’t and British High Commission Host Workshop on Emergency Response Coordination

The Government, in partnership with the British High Commission, conducted a workshop titled “Enhancing National Emergency Response Coordination Arrangements in Maldives.” 

This event took place from 4–5 November 2024 in Malé. The workshop aimed to improve national emergency response coordination across the Maldives.

The primary objective of this workshop was to enhance the collaborative efforts during a multiagency response when handling major incidents of national concern including major disasters and terrorism, with the goal to strengthen existing mechanisms of communication and coordination across the government.

The workshop brought together 13 government ministries and agencies and was facilitated by experts in the field from the United Kingdom.
