Underlining the government’s commitment to improving the economic landscape in the Maldives, Muizzu reiterated a focus on meeting the essential needs of the populace. Additionally, measures are being implemented to facilitate a smoother Ramadan experience for citizens.

In adherence to Islamic principles and with the aim of fostering devotion, Muizzu declared the last 10 days of Ramadan as annual public holidays. Furthermore, the government plans to distribute staple food items to every household during Ramadan.

Despite the customary rise in electricity and water bills during Ramadan, the government has opted to cap these expenses to prevent undue financial strain on the public. This decision is intended to provide relief to citizens during the sacred month.
