Gov’t Announces Sale of 18 New Beachfront and Beachside Plots in Hulhumale’

The government has announced the sale of 18 additional plots of land on the beachfront and beachside areas of Hulhumale’.

This latest offering includes two beachfront plots, one measuring 1,454 square feet and the other 1,261 square feet, along with 16 beachside plots ranging from 1,316 to 1,584 square feet.

The beachfront plots are priced at MVR 4,500 per square foot, with the 1,261-square-foot plot valued at MVR 5.7 million and the 1,454-square-foot plot priced at MVR 6.5 million. Meanwhile, the beachside plots start at MVR 4,000 per square foot, with the 16 plots priced between MVR 5.3 million and MVR 6.3 million.

In September last year, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced the sale of 16 plots of land ranging from 1,000 to 3,400 square feet, with the largest plot priced at MVR 14 million.

These land plots are exclusively available for purchase by Maldivian nationals aged 18 and above, as well as companies that are 100% locally owned.

This announcement brings the total number of land plots offered for sale by HDC in 2024 to 47, following the earlier release of 13 plots in May. In the previous year, HDC held two rounds of land sales in Hulhumale’, with 17 plots offered in one round and 13 in the other.
