Gov’t Awards Contract to Chinese Firm for Lift Installation at Hiyaa Flats

The government has announced that a contract has been awarded to Shenyang Yuanda Intellectual Group, a Chinese company, to install additional lifts at the Hiyaa towers in Hulhumale’ Phase II. 

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has formalised an agreement with the company for the installation of two extra lifts at each tower, bringing the total number of lifts to 32 across 16 towers.

These new lifts will include a standard lift for general use and another capable of accommodating stretchers for transporting sick patients.

According to government sources, physical work on the lift installation has already commenced, with the project expected to be completed within the next year.

The introduction of these additional lifts aims to alleviate lift queues and reduce waiting times for residents at the Hiyaa towers.

The decision to install additional lifts at Hiyaa towers fulfills an electoral promise made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
