A similar 500-capacity mosque in Rinbidhoo has been contracted to Afami Maldives Pvt Ltd. This mosque will also include a prayer hall, a library, and a classroom.
Both mosques are planned to be environmentally friendly, powered by solar energy, and equipped with air-conditioning. They will also provide dedicated prayer space for women.
The government has emphasised the inclusion of classrooms and libraries in all new mosque projects to promote Islamic education, including Quran classes, religious studies, and other community activities. All recent mosque developments have incorporated these facilities.
Mosque construction projects are currently underway nationwide, covering both new developments and the resumption of previously stalled projects. Many of these initiatives are also supported by contributions from well-wishers.
