Gov’t Awards Mosque Construction in Two Islands

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has awarded the construction contract for mosques in Addu City Hulhudhoo and Sh. Milandhoo to LF Construction Pvt Ltd, today.

The agreement, formalised at a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre, was signed by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali, representing the Ministry. Ahmed Firaq, Director of LF Construction Pvt Ltd, represented the contracting company.

The development will see a 500-seat mosque in Hulhudhoo constructed at a projected cost of MVR 17.4 million, while in Milandhoo, a mosque designed to accommodate 700 individuals will be built at an estimated cost of MVR 15.1 million.

LF Construction Pvt Ltd has been entrusted with the responsibility to complete the construction of both mosques within a year. These mosques are intended to cater to the needs of both men and women.
