Gov’t Establishes New Political Posts

The government has introduced a new political post named Political Director as part of its ongoing political appointments.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is in the process of appointing state ministers and deputy ministers to various ministries, details of which are accessible on the President’s Office website.

Alongside these appointments, the creation of the Political Director position has been announced, accompanied by the establishment of the Senior Political Director role. Notably, individuals with political backgrounds are being selected for these positions.
Despite the information available on the President’s Office website, the government has chosen not to disclose the salaries associated with the newly established Political Director and Senior Political Director roles.
This move follows the introduction of the “Coordinator” position during the previous administration led by President Abdullah Yameen, which was positioned as a political post beneath the Deputy Minister. However, the subsequent government altered the role, designating activists to the position of executive director.
