The Ministry of National Planning, Housing & Infrastructure has announced an extension for individuals who have not yet signed the land registry, granting them an opportunity until Thursday to complete this process.
State Minister Akram Kamaludeen highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to finalise the signing of land registries within the set timeframe, but acknowledged the existence of a segment of individuals who are yet to complete this requirement.
Akram assured that the process of signing contracts will persist until Thursday, accommodating those who have missed the initial deadline set by the ministry and individuals who may have encountered obstacles preventing them from registering their lands.
The signing procedures are presently in progress at Dharubaaruge, with the ministry dedicatedly conducting these activities during weekends and informal hours.
The current government initially aimed to conclude all land allocations by November, but the task is still underway, with the Ministry withholding specific details on the progress achieved thus far.
A total of over 19,000 eligible residents are in line for land allocations within the housing project, encompassing 9001 plots with joint applications.
